Government Policy is not an abstract or esoteric set of lofty goals, Public Policy is the foundation for all government action. All public service, all publicly managed funds, every public official is guided by policy. Public Policy is the very framework for governance - making it more accessible, easier to understand and responsive is critical in improving the odds for achieving success.

At Semantech, we understand the role that Public Policy plays as well as the limitations that have historically restricted our ability to effectively coordinate and manage complex policy initiatives. This is why we created our Public Policy Practice. We understand that government consists of three elements: People, Process and Policy. Government works best when these elements can converge and we believe that Information Technology is perhaps the best facilitating medium for making that occur.

The underlying premise for the Semantech Inc. Public Policy Practice is simple; policy management on a large scale requires the ability to define, coordinate and reconcile hundreds or even thousands details quickly while maintaining traceability from the very beginning of any initiative to its completion. The translation of policy into action is a study in complexity, our goal is to introduce new processes and new capabilities designed to control that complexity. A large part of our solution is predicated upon the realization that understanding the relationships between policy details is critical to the overall success of any given policy initiative as well as the larger set of related policy goals.
