Semantech's Service Oriented Integration (SOI) Practice

Services Oriented Architecture (SOA) is a design philosophy, a set of best practices and a related set of vendor support software (SOA stacks). What it isn't, until now, is a truly comprehensive paradigm for enterprise solutions. In other words, while the hype has promised a total solution for enterprise transformation and integration, the reality has only delivered a part of that solution.

Services Oriented Integration (SOI) is the first comprehensive enterprise SOA-based methodology.

SOI is the Next Generation of Enterprise Integration

The true big picture context for SOA is enterprise integration. Enterprise integration by nature is not just concerned with design philosophies borne out of the application layer of an architecture. Enterprise integration must consider the business architecture, datacenter design, data architecture, cross domain interoperability and the underlying semantics. Even more importantly, enterprise integration is also dependent upon a set of management processes (both in terms of actual technology management and program management). SOI, unlike SOA by itself, takes all of this into account. So SOI builds upon SOA as a kernel but allows us also to encompass all of the other necessary pieces to the puzzle in order to provide a holistic solution.
